Anne Heche (Marin Frist), “Men in Trees”

We just don’t buy Anne Heche as the quirky romantic darling Marin Frist on “Men In Trees.” And it’s not because of her brief stint as a lesbian, or her recent marital betrayals with costar James Tupper. It’s that infamous incident where she broke into someone’s house, rambled about aliens, then claimed she was the second coming of Christ.

Of course, all would be forgotten with one quick rehab stint, if she’d been on drugs…but Heche blamed her alter ego, “Celestia,” instead. Surely “Men in Trees” could find a leading lady with a little less baggage—and just one personality. Meg Ryan isn’t up to much these days.
