When the original “Just Cause” came out in 2006, some dismissed this third-person open world shooter as “Grand Theft Auto” lite. That is, until they stormed their first outpost, turning it into a gun battle of Bruckheimerian proportions.

Now “Just Cause 2” in the works—which Eidos will release next year on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC—and from what we’ve seen of it so far, the developers at Avalanche Studios are making this second installment even more Michael Bay-like.
