Third Avenue Cafe

A life-size Elvis mannequin greets diners at the entrance to Third Avenue Cafe, a hip eatery nestled in Old Louisville. "Good Food. Good Karma," goes the slogan here. The eclectic menu offers homemade vegetarian and vegan options with vegetables, tempeh, or tofu. For the omnivorous diner, Third Avenue serves one of the best burgers in town made with beef from the Green River Cattle Company. It's free of hormones, antibiotics, and preservatives. Other non-vegetarian entrees include the Moroccan Steak, the Seafood Hot Brown, and Stuffed Chicken Breast. The funky atmosphere is highlighted by a mural of Victorian homes similar to the homes in the neighborhood. Antique pharmaceutical items reflect the building's former establishment, a corner drugstore. Weather permitting, outdoor seating is available for a relaxed meal with family or friends.
