Is Louisville the tastiest?

Southern Living has named Louisville among 10 finalists in its online contest to find “the South’s tastiest town.”

The magazine gives major props to the city’s vibrant restaurant scene, saying: “A brunch and gallery-hopping date, anyone? In Louisville, saddle up for amazing food and art (often in the same spot), a shrine to artisan hams (heaven is a single-barrel bourbon and seat at a ‘ham bar’), perfect mint juleps, and buzzy hoods like Frankfort, NuLu and Bardstown Road.”

It also cites “mavericks” like Doc Crow’s Southern Smokehouse & Raw Bar and Garage Bar, plus 610 Magnolia chef (and current “Top Chef” competitor) Edward Lee.

The other finalists are Lafayette, La.; Charlottesville, Va.; New Orleans; Charleston, S.C.; Houston; Decatur, Ga.; Raleigh, N.C.; Birmingham, Ala.; and Baltimore.

You can vote for our tasty town through Jan. 31 at southernliving.com.
