This year’s Taste of Innovation will celebrate the farm-to-table movement with a Farm to Fork theme. More than 30 chefs, restaurants, brewers, baristas, distillers and mixologists will be on hand at Churchill Downs’ Millionaire’s Row to serve unlimited food and spirits Sept. 25 from 5:45 to 8 p.m. Among the participants: Feast BBQ, Mayan Cafe, Theater Square Marketplace and the Silver Dollar.
“We filled up really quick this year — we had more people than space,” organizer Tonya York Dees says. “Word has gotten out and people enjoy it. The crowd is great; the venue is wonderful.”
Dees is excited about the demonstrations at the event, presented by Edward Lee of 610 Magnolia and “Next Food Network Star” Damaris Phillips. “We had her booked way before she won, which was wonderful!” Dees says. Guests will also learn how to make a proper Old Fashioned with Old Forester bourbon.
“$35 is crazy reasonable,” says Dees of the price. “Everyone has amazing food, and then we have really cool drinks and a whole area with desserts. Comfy Cow has created some really fun flavors. You never know what they’re going to come up with.”
