It's pretty clear that the owners have mindfully given Cast Iron Steakhouse its own, distinctive identity, a casual, suburban feel that's bolstered by service that is earnest, quick and attentive (though charmingly naïve enough that a server might apologize in advance for an uncertain mastery of wine etiquette). The food caters — very effectively — to old-school tastes. Steaks and entrees generally include a salad (iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, bits of bacon, shreds of cheese and fried onion strips — and a selection of excellent house-made dressings.
