Under the Radar #54 Just saw Warpaint open for Band of Horses in LA on 11/09/09 and they were pretty terrible. I did not enjoy the noise they produced and it was extremely unrehearsed. If that is how they are going to make it big, good luck. I think the only reason people were paying attention is because it is three bra-less chicks bouncing around on stage. They were more concerned about how their oversized t-shirts looked than actually playing their instruments. I never knew soft whispering was considered singing. They are just another reason why people don't take chick bands seriously.

Poetical: you're right, we probably do tend to skew more towards indie rock that we maybe should. But, try checking out Astronautalis (UTR #36), Dalek (UTR #34) or Illa J (UTR #33)...all great underground acts doing cool variations on hip-hop and urban music.
