Ernspiker's gear up for sale

More than 75 instruments and other gear from Dave Ernspiker's collection are going up for sale. Earnspiker, who died in April at 39, was one of the city's most respected rock guitarists, playing most recently with Big Rock Show. (Also, very briefly, he was the guitar teacher at the old Music Warehouse for a 16-year-old me -- a great guitarist and a great guy.) Ernspiker's father, Gene, is ill and the auction will benefit him, according to a press release. The sale will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 1 at Mom's Music, 1900 Mellwood Ave. The items will be displayed at Mom's from July 20 until the auction.
