The Cadaver Dogs push the whole rock ’n’ roll shtick a little hard at times, as far as their look and attitude go, but the band’s songs make up for these minor lapses in judgment. Besides, there are a lot of people raised on hip-hop and DJs who need a few lessons in melting faces.
Mat Franklin, Cole Walsh-Davis and Alex Mosie formed the band four years ago in Columbus, Ohio, and have built a loyal fanbase through incessantly sweat-soaked touring. Its first full-length album, “superloose,” was released last year.
Joining them Saturday at The New Vintage, 2126 S. Preston St., will be two Louisville bands with an equal interest in rock ’n’ roll, although with less Motorhead involved: The Tunesmiths and Adventure. Put away your hard drives, kids and get a taste of the real thing. Showtime is 9 p.m., and cover is $5.
