"Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle"
Credit:Sophie Giraud/New Line Productions
How-high rating: A case of the munchies that leads to not only White Castle sliders, but also to a Taco Bell Value Menu snack, any Reese’s-branded treat, and even a bag of microwavable popcorn.
Totally deep analysis: A hip, modern gloss on the “Cheech and Chong” formula about two college buddies (Kal Penn and John Cho) jonesing for greasy burgers. It’s actually a more clever goof than “Up in Smoke,” so squares will be amused too, but it’s best to approach the movie very light-headed, the better to marvel at Neil Patrick Harris playing a drug-crazed, stripper-hounding version of himself and the “marrying a bag of weed” fantasy sequence.
