•GOP meets. Viewership for the Republication Convention dropped from 2008, with Thursday's final night drawing 30.3 million on 11 networks, down 22% from John McCain's 38.9 million. Fox News led in viewership, with its late Thursday coverage the No. 2 show of the week on network or cable.
•Badnews. The season finale of AMC's Breaking Bad claimed 2.8 million viewers, up 47% from October's finish. More finales: VH1's Single Ladies (2.9 million Monday); ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars (3 million Tuesday); USA's Necessary Roughness (2.9 million Wednesday); and BET's Sunday Best (a series-high 2.6 million Sunday).
•Twin set. TLC's conjoined-twins series Abby and Brittany scored 1.7 million viewers for Tuesday's opener, matching its 19 Kids and Counting lead-in.
•Record setting. BBC America's Doctor Who opener (1.6 million Saturday) set a channel record; HBO's Real Time With Bill Maher (1.4 million Friday) had its biggest turnout since election week 2004; Univision won the week in ages 18 to 49 for only the fourth time (but the second this summer); TLC's Here Comes Honey Boo Boo (3 million Wednesday) rose again.
