Just when you thought all the girls on MTV were pregnant teens or Snooki, the network launches Hey Girl, a series featuring intelligent and funny young women. What a concept!
The network describes the show as "focusing on the modern, web savvy young woman's reaction to dating, fashion, friendship, pop culture, body issues, embarrassing moments and much more." It features popular bloggers/comedians like Shelby Fero, Laura Wilcox and Ali Wong, who provide much-needed examples to young viewers of women who wield power with their brains, not their boobs.
The first episode aired last night and is also up at MTV.com. Fero cracks me up with her attempts at flirting using tips from an "expert." (Best line: "My natural scent is just sort of a Subway sandwich.")
Hey Girl airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
