Harley's House of Brews

What if you're not looking for "grown and sexy" or "wild and crazy"? What about those of us who want that urban, downtown feel but don't give a flying rip about skank or swank? Harley's House of Brews seeks to fill that void. Housed in the space formerly occupied by Zena's on Main Street, it's an unassuming joint nestled just a few hundred feet away from the new arena site. The menu is standard pub grub: burgers, sandwiches, fried sides and a few salads. As a sucker for spice, my attention turned quickly to The Afterburner ($8.50), a burger with green chiles, pepperjack cheese, jalapeno chips, buffalo blue cheese and topped with grilled onions. Although the menu warned that it wasn't for "the faint of heart (or a first date). You'll understand the name in the morning," it was scrumptious and had just enough heat. My side order of tater tots was a perfect addition: ideal crispiness and delicious. Joe grabbed a Double D ($7.50), a chicken breast sandwich on a toasted bun with mayo.
