Zeppelin Cafe: User Reviews
Zeppelin Cafe
1036 Burnett Ave. - Louisville(502) 365-3551
We visited the Zeppelin Cafe about a week ago. As we walked in, we weren't sure if it was a "sit where you want to" type of place or not. After standing inside the front door for a minute, a server came by and said "Sit any where you like". He was more rushed than accomodating but we took the offer to heart and found a booth right in the front window. Our waiter came back with menus and asked what we would like to start off with. When we asked for a beer list, "Dave" told us there wasn't a current one available and proceeded to name all the taps behind the bar. Upon further review, we noticed styrofoam cups over four of the twelve or so draft options available. This, we were told, was because they were out of those particular brews. We decided to have a glass of Reisling when we were informed that they were out of all wines except Merlot. While a red wine was not our fancy, we opted for it only to find there was enough for only one glass. We decided that the dining gods were not working well with us this night and decided to go to another local flair. Across from our original stop was Check's. While not near as nice an atmosphere, they had a beer list (completely stocked) as well as amenities to make a highball like I haven't had in years. The food was good and plentiful. Everything happens for a reason and I believe we were meant to experience Check's that night. Maybe Zeppelin Cafe will meet the standards of this local community in the next visit. It sure didn't meet them this time.
Report This ReviewDoes anyone write reviews these days. Since my last entry no one has written a review about Zeppelins...Is there something wrong?
Report This ReviewWhat a great additition to a great neighborhood and across the street from another favorite bar and grill of mine, Check's Cafe. The food is upscale (original Philly Cheese steak, signature Bistro filet, great cod and the best wings I've ever eaten and as good a beer and wine selection in the city)with moderate prices. Unbelievable change from the old "Heitzman's Bakery" to the "Zeppelin Cafe". My new hangout.
Report This ReviewI have visited Zepplins about three or four times now and have had good food and service everytime. I really like the fact that on Thursday I can go and hear Danny Flanigan from 8 - 11 pm. Great beer prices, love that draft. I really like the waiters Mark and John, both are really friendly. I'll be seeing you guys again soon.
Report This ReviewGreat food at a great price. Great service you can't find anywhere else. Everyone in Germantown needs to DEFINITELY check this place out.
