Improv: User Reviews
Improv
441 S. Fourth St. - Louisville581-1332
I "won" a gift certificate to the Improv at a silent auction. I've been putting off going because I've heard so many negative things about 4th Street Live in general and I'm just not impressed by all the cookie-cutter chains. Anyway, thinking about using the gift certificate and maybe going to see Sinbad but the reviews here are so confusing. I know i'm going to end up going to "do my own research" but I'm just wondering if anyone has any theories on way some days the food is "great" and others "the worst", why some people thought it was great and other thought they'd been ripped off. Just curious .... LMK
Report This Reviewthe food is great and not overly priced compared to everything else on fouth street. i went this weekend and saw earthquakes show with my husband and we had the nachos to start which were HUGE and call a cabs which are delicious. we were worried about the two item minimun but we easily covered that pretty quickly. the staff was very friendly and accomodating. we will definitely be back
Report This Reviewand they were sub-par at best. very disappointing.
Report This ReviewThe worst managed place I have ever visited !!! Unless some drastic changes are made, Improv won't last a year.
Report This ReviewMy boyfriend and I went to see John Witherspoon and we had a blast just like we expected. What we didn't expect is to have such a good dinner! The Food was simply...AMAZING. We started out with 2 salads, the wedge salad and the 4th Street Salad, had the Nachos and then split the ENORMOUS Capt Brien's Seafood Platter. The whole going out was a true experience with good show and great food. We will go back, even if it's just for the food.
Report This ReviewOVERPRICED drinks. Complete lack of management. A horrible experience. This place will not last unless they drastically change their management.
Pathetic!
There was almost nothing positive to say about our experience. The website pictures lead you to believe there is a seperate restaurant. Not so. We were told we could eat outside. The temp was under 50. The entrance to the clubs seating wasn't marked so we ended up lining up well away from where we should have been. The 9:00pm show started at 9:45. It just doesn't seem like anyone was in charge and managing the business. The drinks were expensive and the service was mediocre at beat. The Key Lime Pie was very good. I won't be back.
Report This ReviewThe club is gorgeous and Cpt. Brian's food is very tasty. Not typical "bar food." As for being expensive, the prices are moderate, in keeping up with prices at other establishments at Fourth Street LIVE. I enjoyed the drinks and never found them to be watered down. I suggest the previous reviewer get one of the frozen drinks from Wet Willies; no disappointment there! SUL is bringing in top notch entertainment too: Sinbad, Titus, Mike Epps, Lisa Lampanili, Mark Klein and Norm McDonald just to name a few.
Report This ReviewI was thrilled to hear another comedy club was opening up on 4th Street.
On our first visit, we thought the food was overpriced and the drinks were a bit watered down, but we went for the laughs and overlooked the problems with the menu. The talent was okay.
We figured it must have been a fluke since the club had just opened, so we gave it another chance. Big mistake! The food was worse and the drinks barely gave us a buzz. A few hundred dollars later, the biggest laugh we had was realizing the joke was on us.
Expensive decor doesn't make up for a poor experience. Save your money and go elsewhere for your entertainment dollar. I give this place six months at most.
